Privacy policy
Effective Version 2026-10-25
Who we are
Jyst is operated by C&M Inc. This policy covers Jyst's website and mobile apps. Contact privacy@jyst.fyi about your information, or support@jyst.fyi for help and content complaints. Both addresses reach the same mailbox.
Information and purposes
We process account identifiers, email, sign-in credentials and sessions to create, secure and recover accounts. If you choose an enabled phone or identity-provider option, we also process the phone number or identity information supplied through that option.
We store the profile fields, reviews, ratings, rankings, captions, photographs, tags, links, place names and other content you submit, plus the comments, saves, follows, reactions, votes and shared contributions needed for the features you use. We use these to provide Jyst, show your selected content and keep your interactions. Reports, blocks and support messages help us investigate problems and handle abuse. Shop click records support creator click counts and estimates; they are not proof of a purchase or commission.
Private captures, drafts, selected files and recovery information can be stored in your browser or on your device. They are not automatically synced between your devices. An upload or submission can send selected files to our services before publication finishes. A saved local original and a published photo are different copies. Do not include confidential information you do not intend to share.
Our services and providers also process network requests and connection information, such as IP addresses, browser/device information and operational records, to deliver the service, authenticate requests, troubleshoot failures and investigate misuse.
Visibility and device storage
Public profiles and published public content can be read, linked to and copied by others, including people who are signed out. Your sign-in email and phone number are not intended public profile fields. Public image URLs can be opened by someone who has the link. Blocking does not make public material secret.
Private and invited-group Taste Maps limit access to authorized participants. Sharing a public source review inside a private Map does not make that source private. Saving a draft or a saved item does not publish it.
Clearing browser/app data or removing the app can lose local work. Device storage is not represented as end-to-end encrypted or protected from someone using your unlocked device. Operating-system backup or transfer behavior can depend on your device and settings; deleting the app does not guarantee removal of every backup copy. Photos can contain personal details or metadata; do not assume every upload has had all metadata removed.
Providers and external services
Supabase provides authentication, database and uploaded-file services. OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare host and deliver the website; Cloudflare also provides domain/DNS services. Zoho Mail handles support and privacy correspondence. These providers process the information needed for those functions and may process it outside your country. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or as legally permitted to address fraud, security incidents or serious threats.
A supported shared link can be fetched to obtain its title and related details, without sending your Jyst sign-in session to that destination. TV show/episode lookup sends its query or show identifier to TVmaze. Loading externally hosted media or opening article, merchant or affiliate links sends requests to those services, which have their own privacy practices. Affiliate links may contain referral identifiers.
Optional native text recognition uses Apple Vision on iOS or Google ML Kit on Android to process the selected image locally. This path does not send the image to a Jyst OCR service. Publishing that image or looking up a selected title is separate. Google's Android ML Kit SDK also sends device/app information, installation identifiers and recognition/performance metadata for diagnostics and usage analytics.
The website uses authentication cookies and browser storage, including IndexedDB, for local work and recovery. Native apps use device storage and supported secure session storage. Camera/photo permissions support media you choose; you can change them in system settings.
Keeping and deleting information
Account information and submitted content are kept to provide your account and the features you use, until removed through supported controls or account deletion, subject to applicable legal and security needs. Support and safety records are retained as needed to resolve the issue, handle abuse and meet applicable obligations. Minimal deletion/security records can remain to track completion and prevent old identity references from recreating a deleted account. Backups follow the relevant provider's backup cycle rather than disappearing immediately when active data is removed.
Request account deletion in Settings → Delete Account, or start at https://jyst.fyi/delete-account. Identity verification is required. Check the stated status: a pending request or interrupted submission is not confirmation of completion. Independently authored replies or shared contributions may remain with removed material anonymized. Independent copies outside our control and offline copies on other devices are not instantly erased.
Choices and questions
You can edit supported profile/content fields, choose what to publish, change device permissions and request account deletion. Contact privacy@jyst.fyi to request access, correction, a copy, withdrawal of consent or another right under applicable law. We may need to verify your identity and explain lawful limits. Contact us if you believe a child's information has been provided improperly. We date policy changes and provide additional notice or consent where required. No service can guarantee absolute security; report a concern to support@jyst.fyi.
